Oak City Lacrosse Spring Season - League Games and Practices


Spring 2024 registration is up and we're working on getting all the things ready for you and your athletes.  We have a large group of athletes participate in Fall 2023 and we expect to again have a large group of athletes for Spring of 2024. We limit Spring season registrations based on the number of coaches and the field spaces we can secure.  


Our league practices began near the end of February
Our league ends the second week in May.  

Oak City fields teams in the following age/grade groups. 

Grade 1-2 boys   

Grade 3-4 boys 

Grade 5-6 boys

Middle School Boys (Grade 7-8)   

As an example, here is a typical season schedule

Saturday and Sunday Practices -
Weekend, Feb 17/18 AM
Weekend Feb 24/25 AM 
Early March Saturday (March 2 or 9)- Pre-season scrimmage 

Weeknight Practices 2x a week beginning after daylight savings begins. 
Games are typically played on Saturday mornings for Grades 1-6 
The last game is the second weekend of May.  
For Grade 1-6 Players, games are on Saturday mornings and practices 2 nights per week weeknights. 
Practice Times: 
Grade 1-4 practice times will be between 5:30PM-8:00PM
Grade 5-8 Practice times will be between 5:30PM-8:00PM  

For Middle School Team (7th and 8th grades), games are on Saturdays in Apex/Cary (NEW IN 2024) Practices on weeknights 2x a week.    

Practice Locations:
Oak City Lacrosse Grade 1-6 teams will practice and play home games in the N. Raleigh portion of Wake County. Our away games will be against opponents from the Triangle region with a few opponents from slightly further away. Typical away locations range from 10-45 minutes away. 

Oak City's Middle School team practices in N. Raleigh and plays other teams located in Wake County.  We welcome all players, especially those players who are likely to attend Sanderson and Millbrook, as well as Charter, Private and other public school players. 

Oak City's Spring season focuses on a schedule of games against other regional opponents and skill development at practices.  We are focused on teaching the game using  the Lacrosse Athlete Development Model that has been developed by US Lacrosse. All Oak City coaches are in the US Lacrosse development pipeline, with a Level 1, 2 or 3 certification.
